Movie Review to "Shanghai Noon"

A 19th century Western. Chon Wang is a clumsy Imperial Guard to the Emperor of China. When Princess Pei Pei is kidnapped from the Forbidden City, Wang feels personally responsible and insists on joining the guards sent to rescue the Princess, who has been whisked away to the United States. Monte Peterson, a rich real-estate developer, is going through his third divorce. His friend Ray has found a good site for a ski resort in Utah, and Monte comes to bid on the land, competing with local banker Preston Gates. Monte knew that, in order to take possession of the land, he would have to convert to the local religion, a sort of cross between Mormonism and Amish (no smoking, no drinking, bigamy and simple living/dressing encouraged). What he didn't know was that the deed to the land also included the three wives of the deceased former owner. He also buys another plot, and the two wives that come with it, in part because they are much better cooks. Gates, meanwhile, wants the land to build an Indian casino, and is mixed up with some mobsters. Movie Review to "Dark Reprieve"

Two people Matt and kate wake up in a closed down prison. They have no idea how they got there, or why they are there. In the prison they encounter several terrors as they look for an exit. These terrors include a wolf beast that terrorizes kate, a hideous monster that hunts them both, a "zombie" surgeon who operates on people whilst you're still alive, the executioner who gives kate a ride in his electric chair and finally executes her with the guillotine. But kate just wakes up again in the prison and the nightmare continues. Also in the prison Matt and kate encounter a strange number that pops up a regular basis, first the number is being printed over and over again on a printer gone crazy, next the number appears painted on a wall in blood. kate finds a room containing a vacuum tube machine for sending messages between rooms, when she pushes the operation button it comes alive and a cylinder appears. Inside the cylinder are the pictures of five people, kate has no idea who these five people are. Later in the movie Matt and kate explore the basement in the search for an exit and discover five pairs of shoes all neatly arranged on a shelf. As Matt and kate endure these horrors, the beautiful fashion model Raquel Lake is being interrogated by the police about a series of homicides. Raquel is arrogant and diabolical, she also has a very high IQ and proves more than a match for the professional police interrogator. Strangely many of the subjects in the police interview correlate with the events transpiring in the prison. For instance, Raquel is shown a series of pictures of five dead people, and when Raquel is informed by the detective that they are "looking for a cold blooded predator." Lem goes to Chicago to sell the wheat his family has grown on their farm in Minnesota. There he meets the waitress kate. They fall in love and get married before going back to the farm. kate is accepted by Lem's mother and kid sister but is rejected by his father, who believes she married for the money. (And the fact that Lem didn't get a fair price for the wheat is her fault too). The reapers arrive and quickly they make things even more complicated by making their move on kate. kate (Meg Ryan) and Charlie (Timothy Hutton) have a perfect life planned out before them: buying a house, marriage, kids, the whole works. kate's fear of flying keeps her in Canada while Charlie goes to Paris for a medical convention. While there Charlie is smitten by the lovely Juliette (Susan Anbeh). He calls off the wedding with kate and she nervously boards a plane to get him back. She ends up sitting next to the petty French thief Luc Teyssier (Kevin Kline). He hides a stolen necklace and smuggled grape vine in her bag to get it through customs. Her bag is stolen, the necklace apparently lost, and kate and Luc head to Cannes — Luc to find the necklace and kate get Charlie back. Movie Review to "Chevolution"

On March 5, 1960, Che Guevara, one of the architects of the Cuban revolution, attended a memorial service for seventy-five men who died while explosive cargo was being unloaded from a ship in the Havana harbor. Photographer Alberto Korda snapped a picture of Guevara at the event, and while it went unpublished at the time, in the late Sixties an Italian publisher, Giangiacomo Feltrinelli, asked Korda's permission to reproduce the image of the then-martyred revolutionary leader. Korda agreed, and within a few years his portrait of Che, wearing a beret and looking with determination to some point in the distance, became one of the most famous photos in the world. Korda didn't mind seeing the photo appear in unlikely places, from banners at protests to T-shirts, but in 2000 he filed suit against the producers of Smirnoff vodka after they used the picture in a magazine advertisement, arguing that he never intended it to be used for commercial purposes. Filmmakers Trisha Ziff and Luis Lopez trace the strange journey of Korda's portrait of Che, from revolutionary symbol to advertising logo and an iconic but little-understood image often adopted by young people who aren't sure who the man is, in the documentary Chevolution. An idyllic wildlife cruise disintegrates into terror when a party of tourists are stalked by a massive man-eating crocodile. Pete McKell, a cynical American travel writer, joins a disparate group of holiday-makers on a river cruise through the waters of Kakadu National Park. Initially Pete clashes with their tour captain, kate, a feisty young woman who assumes he is just another 'city-slicker' in search of a quick thrill. After an uneventful day cruising the river, kate is reluctantly persuaded to steer their boat into unexplored territory. They discover a secluded lake but terror strikes when their craft receives a powerful blow from beneath the murky depths and begins to sink. With little choice, she beaches the vessel on the closest dry land -a tiny mud island.
